Some days it’s so difficult to focus! What do you do to keep from procrastinating and getting things done. I’d like to share a mantra that helps me get focused. If you’re struggling to get something done, try this:

  • Go back to your desk . . .
  • Settle down . . .
  • Focus . . . and . . .
  • Get it done!

I added hand motions and it really helps!

  • Go back to your desk (put your hands and arms out in front of you at your waist, palms down)
  • Settle down (cross your hands and use the baseball signals for “safe”)
  • Focus (bring your hands up vertical to the each side of your face with palms over your ears {not touching your ears but by them}. Bring your hands forward and back to stress focusing – like a flight attendant showing the exits on an airplane) . . . and . . .
  • Get it done! (Thumbs up and move them toward and over your shoulders)

I’ve also figured out times of day that are most productive for me. That’s when I do my critical thinking, problem solving, writing, or other detailed projects.
